9/11 orchestrator sees plea deal validated by US military judge
A US military judge ruled on Thursday that plea deals with Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, a key actor behind the 9/11 attacks, and two other defendants were valid, "enforceable contracts". The decision opens the door to Mohammed escaping the death penalty, despite pushback from relatives of victims of the attack and Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin discarding the agreements altogether in August.
