Armenia, Azerbaijan agree to sign peace deal
Long-warring Armenia and Azerbaijan announced on Thursday they had agreed to sign a peace deal after over three decades of conflict. Armenia agreed in principle to remove its troops from its border with Azerbaijan and withdraw all legal claims against its neighbour. Azerbaijan requested Armenia amend its constitution to renounce any claim to the predominantly Armenian Nagorno-Karabakh region, which Azerbaijan seized in a 2023 lightning offensive many labelled as ethnic cleansing.
