Insiders revealed that efforts were being made to develop a fresh central agreement for the national athletes. A new, more compact selection committee will be responsible for finalizing the central contract. Nevertheless, the remuneration of the national cricketers will remain intact and will not be reduced.
The Green Shirts faced difficulties in the worldwide tournament and were unable to go beyond the league stage. Thus, the team experienced an unexpected loss against the United States. Also, surrendered a match against India, a game that they initially had an advantage on.
These two setbacks hindered their progress to the Super 8 stage, resulting in a dismal conclusion to their campaign. According to the sources, it is probable that Shan Masood will continue to be the captain for the red-ball format in the upcoming Test series against Bangladesh. Masood, head coach Jason Gillespie, and the selection committee have initiated conversations regarding Pakistan’s team for the Test series against Bangladesh.
There is a possibility that the current captains for white-ball cricket, Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan, and Shaheen Shah Afridi, may be given a break for the Test matches against Bangladesh. However, the inclusion of Haris Rauf in the squad is not being taken into consideration.
Saud Shakeel, Abdullah Shafique, Salman Ali Agha, and previous captain and wicketkeeper-batsman Sarfaraz Ahmed are under consideration for the final team selection. In regards to the fast bowling division, Naseem Shah, Shahnawaz Dahani, Mir Hamza, Khurram Shahzad, and Aamir Jamal are being evaluated for potential inclusion.
