Belgian court rules against state over abduction of mixed-race children in colonial Congo
In a landmark ruling, Belgium's court of appeals on Monday said that five women, born in Belgian-ruled Congo and now in their 70s, had been victims of "systematic abduction" by the state when they were abducted from their mothers as small children and brought up in Catholic institutions because of their mixed-race origins.
