Italian Filippo Ganna set a new track one-hour record of 56.792km at the Granges velodrome in Switzerland on Saturday.

The double world time-trial champion in 2020 and 2021 bettered the mark set by Britain’s Daniel Bigham, a performance engineer at Ganna’s Ineos Grenadiers team, of 55.548km on the same track in August.
