Taking an average Kaizer Chiefs squad to the brink of a league title is nothing to smirk at. Ernst Middendorp is therefore a relevant voice to have a say on what is happening at Amakhosi.

KAIZER CHIEFS LOSE DSTV PREMIERSHIP UNDER  MIDDENDORP

As we all witnessed, Amakhosi were 30 minutes away from the championship when Baroka FC’s Manuel Kambala stuck home the equaliser that handed Mamelodi Sundowns the title.

The 63-year-old coach later departed before Amakhosi brought in Gavin Hunt, Stuart Baxter, and of course Arthur Zwane.

MIDDENDORP ON ZWANE

Having coached Zwane and worked closely with him at Naturena as the reserve team coach, Middendorp and “10111” are no strangers.

The German has thus shared a bit of insight on Zwane and the realities of “stage one” in PSL coaching.

“In the professional life, Zwane is definitely passionate, he lives football, there’s no doubt about that,” Middendorp told Robin-Duke Madlala in last week’s edition of iDiskiTimes.

“It is now the time of your career where you want to grow and believe you can grow to the highest level. And stay there for decades.

“…Be strong, make sure you have your mind cleared, listen to the right and experienced people and you will make the right decision.

“I think it is part of qualifying for being a professional coach for the next few decades. Now is the practical side, not the theoretical side,” the former Kaizer Chiefs tactician added.
