Chiefs, What was that? Five new things we noticed

The pressure is back on Kaizer Chiefs and Arthur Zwane. Amakhosi just should not have lost to a coachless Chippa United at Moses Mabhida.

DSTV PREMIERSHIP: KAIZER CHIEFS 1-2 CHIPPA UNITED

As The South African reported last Saturday night, Siyabonga Ngezana’s first-half header into the net suggested it was Chiefs’ night.

But the Chilli Boys had a surprise to deliver.

FIVE THINGS WE NOTICED IN ARTHUR ZWANE’S AMAKHOSI

Every game offers new information, especially at this time of the season and at a rebuilding club such as Chiefs.

  1. Not just because he scored, but Siyabonga Ngezana showed he can play football and defend.
  2. Goalkeeper Brandon Petersen has not been the keeper we watched at Ajax Cape Town and Bidvest Wits, ‘Bheeza” has been shaky. Is it the weight of the Chiefs jersey they tell us about?
  3. Kgaogelo Sekgota had a poor game, it was a combination of fatigue and a lack of accurate crossing to the target man Caleb.
  4. Ashley Du Preez continued to struggle in a Chiefs shirt. Playing as a number 9 in Stellenbosch FC’s counter-attacking style brought the best out of him.
  5. PSL defenders have noticed Burundian striker Caleb is completely weak on his left foot after missing another glorious chance on Saturday.

Meanwhile, the Glamour Boys are now preparing to host TS Galaxy at Soccer City on Wednesday at 19:30.
