Cristiano Ronaldo’s Saudi Pro League team, Al Nassr, celebrated him on Friday for reaching 900 goals in his career. The 39-year-old forward was given a special jersey with the words “GOAT” and “900” on the back prior to Al Nassr’s game against Al Ahli.
The stadium celebrated Ronaldo’s contribution to football by putting up a tifo with inscriptions like “900 goals” and “Only heroes achieve glory.” Earlier this month, Ronaldo produced a second-half thunderbolt to give Portugal a 2-1 UEFA Nations League victory over Croatia, marking his 900th goal.
While the 900 goals are impressive, this week Ronaldo broke yet another milestone. He was the first person to amass one billion social media followers off the pitch. With this accomplishment, Ronaldo continues to be among the most influential athletes of all time.
