A fire broke out above the Noon Gun area on Signal Hill shortly after 12:00 on Friday, 27 February, according to reports.

Table Mountain National Park (TMNP) management confirmed that ground firefighting crews have been dispatched to the scene to contain the blaze.

The affected area overlooks parts of central Cape Town and is a popular tourist and recreational site.
