Another grand proposal? Did Siya Kolisi pop the question to his new partner, Rachel John, on top of New York's Empire State Building?
South Africans have peeped what they believe could be an engagement ring on the hand of Rachel John, the new woman in Springbok Siya Kolisi’s life.
The couple are in New York for a mini-vacation and have been vlogging their trip, albeit separately.
News of Siya’s romance comes over a year after he announced his separation from his ex-wife, Rachel Kolisi.
DID SIYA KOLISI PROPOSE TO RACHEL JOHN?
In several TikTok videos, Rachel John has posted clips of her adventures in the US. This included a trip to Los Angeles to watch an NBA All-Star game and a stop in New York City.
Naturally, Rachel was Siya Kolisi’s plus one, but omitted posting any clips or pictures of her Springbok captain partner.
The private couple enjoyed a trip up New York’s Empire State Building, where eagle-eyed followers spotted a small diamond ring on Rachel’s ring finger.

One commented, “She has a ring on her engagement finger. ”A second responded: “I see it too!”
A third appealed to Rachel to vlog everything from her “engagement to her wedding”.
Neither Siya Kolisi nor Rachel John has responded to the comments.
RACHEL AND SIYA KOLISI’S PROPOSAL
If Siya Kolisi proposed to Rachel John in New York, and possibly up the Empire State Building, it would be his second grand gesture.
It would also be another one braving dizzying heights, something the Springbok captain is fearful of.
In 2015, Siya popped the question to his former spouse, Rachel Kolisi, during a helicopter ride over the foot of Table Mountain.
Despite freaking out over the altitude, Siya proposed mid-air.
“She said yess!”, he captioned the now-deleted Instagram post.
‘OG’ RACHEL DID IT FIRST?
Earlier this year, Siya Kolisi was criticised for taking his new partner to Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe, the same location where he honeymooned with his former spouse.
It wouldn’t be the first time Rachel John has been accused of following in the footsteps of her namesake.
In 2023, Rachel Kolisi visited New York for the screening of her husband’s Rise documentary at the Tribeca Film Festival.
In one Instagram post, Rachel posted pictures of the Empire State Building.
