Eskom will release their load shedding plan for the rest of the weekend and for next week on Friday afternoon, spokesperson Sikonathi Mantshantsha said in statement.

Minister of Public Enterprises Pravin Gordhan told Bloomberg on Thursday this week’s record-level power cuts should ease by the weekend.

Eskom implements rolling blackouts when it fails to meet demand in order to keep the grid from a total collapse, which would potentially result in a prolonged outage.

However, Gordhan said there was “no risk whatsoever” of that happening.
