The former Orlando Pirates coach Jozef Zinnbauer has not lasted long in Russia. Lokomotiv Moscow have shown him the door after 15 games.

Following what was a big move to coach the Russian and European giants, the German has lost the opportunity. The former midfielder was appointed in July before delivering only four wins, six draws, and eight defeats.

“Sports director Thomas Zorn and head coach Josef Zinnbauer leave the Lokomotiv football club,” the clubs’ translated statement said on Saturday evening following a 4-0 loss to Sochi.

Meanwhile, it remains to be seen if Fadlu Davids will be leaving as well, after joining as Zinnabuer’s assistant last month.

THE JOURNEY SO FAR

Despite being 52 years old, Zinnbauer has not picked up significant experience as a head coach at senior level. The German has only been a head coach at four clubs.

He was first in charge of Hamburger, FC Gallen, Pirates, and Moscow.
