Mamelodi Sundowns have suffered the biggest upset of the 2026 Nedbank Cup as TS Galaxy march into the final eight.

Debutant teenager Sphamandla Ngwenya found the opener before the experienced Zimbabwean striker Junior Zindonga made it 2-0 from the spot.

TS GALAXY’S NEDBANK CUP RUN CONTINUES

Kabo Yellow and the Rockets arrived at this Round of 16 clash having followed very different paths. Sundowns, the defending league champions, secured their place with a 2-1 win over Gomora United on 4 February 2026, a performance that combined control and efficiency.

TS Galaxy, meanwhile, had to battle a lot harder, grinding out a 1-0 extra-time victory against Marumo Gallants on 8 February 2026, a result that tested their patience, resilience, and belief ahead of facing the league heavyweights.
