Pakistan’s right-arm quick Haris Rauf put another feather to his cap as he surpassed 200 international wickets during the third T20I against New Zealand here at Eden Park on Friday.
Haris attained the milestone when he bowled New Zealand captain Michael Bracewell in the penultimate over and thus became the 24th Pakistani to complete 200 wickets in international cricket.
Striking again in the same over, the right-arm pacer returned exceptional bowling figures of 3/29 in his four-overs.
Shaheen Shah Afridi, Abbas Afridi, and Abrar Ahmed backed Haris Rauf’s bowling efforts as Pakistan booked New Zealand for 204 in 19.5 overs despite Mark Chapman’s fastfire half-century.
Eleven fours and four sixes helped the left-handed batter score 94 off 44 deliveries.
Thanks to Hasan Nawaz’s brilliant century and skipper Salman Ali Agha’s unbroken half-century, Pakistan easily knocked the winning runs for just one wicket and 24 balls to spare.
Adding 74 runs until the former died on the penultimate delivery of the batting powerplay, the opening pair of Mohammad Haris and Hasan gave Pakistan a flying start to the run chase.
On his way to a 20-ball 41 Haris hit four fours and three sixes.
After his dismissal, skipper Salman Ali Agha joined Hasan in the middle and together they guided Pakistan to an amazing triumph with an undefeated 133-run partnership.
Hasan top-scored for Pakistan with an undefeated 105 off 45 deliveries, loaded with ten fours and seven sixes; Agha hit a 31-ball 51 with the aid of six fours and two sixes.
Jacob Duffy grabbed the one wicket New Zealand needed.
