‘I can’t find a better place’: Elon Musk’s dad Errol praises SA

Despite Elon Musk calling out his home country of South Africa for its “openly racist laws,” his dad Errol claims there’s nowhere else in the world that he’d like to live in.

Errol made the comments during an interview with MacG [real name Macgyver Mukwevho] on Podcast & Chill late last year.

The retired engineer lives in the seaside town of Langebaan in the Western Cape.

ELON MUSK’S DAD ON CHOOSING TO LIVE IN SA

Appearing on Podcast & Chill, Errol Musk was asked why he chose to stay in South Africa. With the world’s richest man – Elon Musk – as his son, Errol has travelled around the world for business and leisure.

He told MacG: “South Africa is one of the better places to be in the world. Everything is here; you don’t miss anything. Anything you want, you can get in South Africa.

“I go away quite a lot. I can’t find a better place with better food or better people”.

Errol dismissed the US – where Elon is a naturalised US citizen – as a “workaholic’s paradise.”

He added: “It’s expensive. Everything I want is here”.

Errol and his ex-wife, Maye Musk, have three children, Elon, Kimbal, and Tosca, all of whom live in the US. Like Elon and his siblings, Errol was born in Pretoria. He now resides in the Western Cape.

PALS WITH PRESIDENT RAMAPHOSA?

During the interview, Errol Musk also claimed that he had friends in cabinet, including Bejani Chauke, the former political advisor to President Cyril Ramaphosa.

In fact, Errol claimed that he had even purchased a Bentley, which belonged to the president.

He said: “It’s perfect. I’ve never found a car so well looked after”.

This week, Elon Musk criticised President Ramaphosa – whom he met last year – for pushing “openly racist laws.” This comes days after Elon’s internet satellite company, Starlink, was ordered to abide by ICASA’s 30% black investor regulations.

Elon has also been accused of propagating US President Donald Trump’s beliefs of land expropriation and race-based legislature like Black Economic Empowerment (BEE).

He’s also of the belief that white South Africans should immigrate to the US.

According to BusinessLive, Errol facilitated the call between President Ramaphosa and Elon Musk to clear up “disinformation.”
