ICC authorises 2024 Champions Trophy budget
Pakistan will host Champions Trophy 2025 at a cost allowed by the ICC. ICC approved the budget at the recent meeting in Colombo, Sri Lanka, media stated. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) prepared the budget with ICC. PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi attended ICC meetings. Pakistan will host the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy in February–March. The PCB proposed that India play all matches at Lahore.
PCB sent ICC a revised Champions Trophy schedule this month, recommending March 1 for the high-voltage match between host and India in Lahore. Karachi hosts the first match on February 19, 2025, and Lahore hosts the final on March 9, 2025. Reserve day for the event final is March 10. The amended schedule places three matches in Karachi, five in Rawalpindi, and seven in Lahore. Both Karachi and Rawalpindi will host semifinals.
Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, and New Zealand are in Champions Trophy Group A, while Australia, England, South Africa, and Afghanistan are in Group B.
