The varied coaching experience that Patel brings to the table is a boon, and he has worked remotely with the squad before. Throughout England, he has volunteered with a wide range of groups and institutions, including schools and well-known clubs like Luton Town and Liverpool.
With a photo of Patel wearing the national team’s jersey, the Pakistan Football Federation took to social media to herald Patel’s arrival. In 2006, Patel started his career as a football coach by working as a scouting coach. He became a Community Coach with Luton Town of the Premier League in 2009 and stayed with the club until 2015. Patel, who is a UEFA A license holder, became an assistant manager at Biggleswade United in 2019.
He is also connected with Berkhamsted and has experience coaching international youth teams for Liverpool.
Before heading to Tajikistan for their last encounter, Pakistan will meet regional power Saudi Arabia in their next FIFA World Cup qualification match in Islamabad on June 6.
