Medical doctor and former Miss South Africa Tamaryn Green shared photos of her and Ze Nxumalo’s umembeso ceremony on Instagram today (10 October).

TAMARYN AND ZE’S RELATIONSHIP

Tamaryn Green began dating Zesimdumise “Ze” Nxumalo in 2019. The same year she graduated with her seven-year Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery degree (MBChB) at the University of Cape Town. The medical doctor was crowned Miss South Africa in 2018. Ze is a “social entrepreneur” who invested in transportation company Uber. He is also the founder of ZIG Holdings.

The pair got engaged in April this year on their baecation at Sweni Lodge in the Kruger National Park. Ze took the second step towards making Tamaryn his wife in June this year with the lobola negotiations. Lobola is the traditional “bridal wealth” paid by the man to the family of his wife-to-be in the form of livestock or other means.

Ze  “stopped at nothing” to make Tamaryn’s 27th birthday special in August.

“What a special 27th Birthday. My hubby to be really stopped at nothing to make it the most special one. ❤It included so much of my favourite things! First part of the night included a Salsa lesson. ????????,” she wrote on Instagram.

THE ‘UMEMBESO’

The pair keep a low social media profile so it is unclear when their umembeso took place. However, Tamaryn shared several pictures from the ceremony to Instagram today (10 October).

Tamaryn let her followers know this was her umembeso by adding #umembeso to her posts. Umembeso is a process in the traditional Zulu wedding where the groom gives gifts to the bride’s family, following the lobola negotiations.
