JUST IN: Queen Elizabeth’s health deteriorates, doctors ‘worried’
Queen Elizabeth is now under 'medical supervision', and doctors have expressed concern about her health on Thursday.
Queen Elizabeth II is now receiving ‘medical supervision’, amid doctors’ concerns for her health. The long-reigning monarch has been struggling with mobility issued for most of 2022, and at the grand old age of 96, scares such as these have be treated with the utmost caution.
Latest updates and news on Queen Elizabeth’s health, Thursday 8 September
Although nothing specific has been confirmed about her health, family members have been informed about the Queen’s ongoing medical situation. Earlier this week, the monarch of 70 years performed a civic duty from her residence in Balmoral.
She conducted the official Prime Ministerial handover of power, relieving Boris Johnson of his duties and appointing Liz Truss to take the wheel. Now, just two days after this ceremony, it would appear the health of Queen Elizabeth II has taken a turn for the worse.
There was panic and confusion within the British Parliament on Thursday, after proceedings were halted during a session in the National Assembly. Party leaders were handed notes and ushered out of the chambers. Speculation was rife regarding the disruption.
What is The Queen’s latest medical status?
Just moments after politicians were made aware of the situation, Buckingham Palace issued a brief statement on Her Majesty’s current condition. Though not the worst possible scenario, the update does not look promising for Queen Elizabeth II.
“Following further evaluation this morning, The Queen’s doctors are concerned for Her Majesty’s health and have recommended she remain under medical supervision. The Queen remains comfortable and at Balmoral.” | Buckingham Palace
Queen Elizabeth facing more ‘turmoil’ in her senior years
It has been a rough couple of years for Queen Elizabeth. Not only has she had to preside over the devastating spread of COVID-19, but she lost her devoted husband Prince Philip in April 2021. Since then, internal family dramas have also created disharmony amongst the royals.
It’s understood her grandchildren, William and Harry, aren’t on speaking terms.
However, the ‘Meghan Markle issues’ don’t hold water when compared to the actions of Prince Andrew. The Queen’s son infamously dragged the Royal Family’s reputation through the mud, after he allegedly received massages from underage girls at Jeffrey Epstein’s private residence.
Her Maj has conducted herself with grace and dignity throughout, however – and she now faces another tough challenge to overcome.
