Even though it’s a friendly match, Arthur Zwane isn’t taking it lightly. He believes the game comes at a good time before the next official match for his team, which is an MTN8 semi-final first-leg clash against AmaZulu on 2 October.

“We need the game because we want to improve on certain aspects of our game. We want to get our chemistry right and also give some other players a chance to play because we want to keep everyone at the same level of fitness,” said Zwane.

“We need to use the match get to try combinations and get them right for the games coming up in October because we will play seven official matches,” he added. “We look forward to seeing Amakhosi supporters in Mangaung and the Free State because it has been long since we played there.”

Chiefs boss Zwane to rotate his squad

With an MTN8 semifinal first-leg against AmaZulu on the horizon next weekend, coach Zwane will use the Macufe Cup as an opportunity to test out a few combinations.Eric Mathoho, Keagan Dolly and Cole Alexander were all substitutes against SuperSport in Chiefs’ last DStv Prem match, and Zwane might start all three to play them into form.

Nkosingiphile Ngcobo could also be back in the fold following a period out of the side after his father’s death.
