Prince Harry revealed that he and his wife Meghan Markle have three dogs “emotional support dogs” in a chat with the winners of the Inspirational WellChild Award on Monday 10 October.
PRINCE HARRY HAS THREE ‘EMOTIONAL SUPPORT DOGS’
The Duke of Sussex Prince Harry revealed that he has three “emotional support dogs” while in a chat with the winners of the Inspirational WellChild Award on Monday 10 October.
“I’ll tell you what, we all need a dog that keeps us calm,” said Prince Harry to one of the winning families as he spoke to them via video conference with their own pet beside them on World Mental Health Day.
“I’ve got three in this house now, so we basically have five children,” said the Prince who has two children – Archie (3) and Lilibet (1) with Meghan Markle.
The Duke of Sussex revealed that he has a black Labrador named Pula and two rescue beagles named Guy and Mia.
“Between the three of them, they charge around chasing the squirrels and causing all sorts of problems to us every single day,” he said adding that the dogs are also “emotional support dogs” when they are “behaving”.

THE DUKE OF SUSSEX’S STRUGGLE WITH MENTAL HEALTH
Both Prince Harry and Meghan have been open about their struggles with mental health in the past. Meghan revealed that she had suicidal thoughts in the couple’s bombshell interview with veteran talk show host Oprah Winfrey.
Prince Harry opened up about how much his mother, Princess Diana’s death affected him – in an interview with Telegraph in 2017.
“I can safely say that losing my mum at the age of 12, and therefore shutting down all of my emotions for the last 20 years, has had a quite serious effect on not only my personal life but my work as well,” he said to Telegraph.
““I have probably been very close to a complete breakdown on numerous occasions when all sorts of grief and sort of lies and misconceptions and everything are coming to you from every angle,” he continued.
