Malala Yousafzai Got Married in Birmingham

Malala Yousafzai, the Nobel Peace Prize winner, married in a tiny ceremony in Birmingham on Tuesday, the education campaigner announced on Twitter.

The education campaigner tweeted on the microblogging website: "Today is a significant day in my life. Asser and I exchanged vows to be life mates. We had a tiny nikkah ceremony with our families at home in Birmingham. Please offer us your well-wishes. We're looking forward to embarking on this trip together."

Malala also shared four images from her nikkah ceremony, in which she was photographed with her newlywed husband, Asser, and her parents, Ziauddin and Toor Pekai Yousafzai.

Malala donned a melon-pink gown with gold embroidery for her big day. Malin Fezehai, a photographer and visual journalist, was there to take her nikkah photos.
