Former champions Quetta Gladiators on Monday received a big boost ahead of their Pakistan Super League (PSL) 10 game against Peshawar Zalmi as New Zealand all-rounder Mark Chapman has joined their side.

Chapman was seen welcoming mentor Sir Vivian Richards in a video the team posted on its social media channels opening his kit bag to don the Gladiators’ jersey.

Before saying he always cherished his time in Pakistan, the New Zealand all-rounder expressed his thrill at making his PSL debut and getting along with his fellow Kiwi players.

Hey everybody, Mark Chapman here. [I’ve] always performed here in Pakistan. Clearly at Quetta, we have a few known faces, some Kiwi players who are quite eager to join, and clearly a lot of men who have faced the Pakistan team. So excited to play beside them, said Chapman in a video message.

For the uninitiated, the Gladiators are presently ranked fourth in the PSL 10 with two points in three games because they lost two consecutive matches following their opening campaign with a grand 120-run triumph against arch-rivals Peshawar Zalmi.

Their next game is Friday versus Karachi Kings at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.
