MEGHAN ALLEGEDLY GAVE PRINCE HARRY AN ULTIMATUM
Royal correspondent Valentine Low claims that Meghan Markle told Prince Harry that she would break up with him if he didn’t publicly announce that they were dating – according to his book Courtiers: The Hidden Power Behind the Crown as seen in an extract published by The Times.
The book claims that Harry was facing “hordes of journalists”, who were keen to dig into his new girlfriend’s life. So, the Duke of Sussex “became determined to protect” her. However, it is also claimed that Meghan told Prince Harry that if he didn’t announce how serious they were, she would break up with him.
“She was saying, ‘If you don’t put out a statement confirming I’m your girlfriend, I’m going to break up with you’. Harry was in a panic,” read the extract.
“Another source said: ‘He was freaking out, saying’, ‘She’s going to dump me,” read the extract.

THE DUKE OF SUSSEX TURNED TO KENSINGTON PALACE COMMUNICATIONS SECRETARY
According to Low, Prince Harry turned to Kensington Palace communications secretary, Jason Knauf. This was because the Duke of Sussex wanted help to make it known that he was dating Meghan.
“Harry phoned Knauf, demanding that he put out a statement confirming that Meghan was his girlfriend and condemning the racist and sexist undertones of some of the media coverage,” wrote Low.
“Meghan wanted public validation that this was a serious relationship. She was convinced that the palace was unwilling to protect her from media intrusion,” wrote Low.
