After retiring in 2020, the 58-year-old legend squared off against another boxer, Roy Jones Jr., but had not faced a fight until the social media star turned boxer challenged Iron Mike to return to the ring.
Paul began boxing in 2020 and won nine out of ten fights, including six knockouts. Due to his remarkable knockout power and ability to move quickly, duck, bop, and weave, Tyson was a well-liked fighter.
The legend said to reporters at a press conference, “My body is s**t right now. I’m hurting.
Tyson remarked, “I think the people who say that wish they were up here because no one else can do this.” Nobody else has the authority to close the sports world.
“I think we might do this again because it seems like a lot of fun. First, let me tend to Jake. There’s no denying that we are friends. But we’re not going to be friends outside of the ring.
“I really like Jake but he’s going to have to fight like his life is on the line because it is.”
Paul defeated Nate Diaz and Anderson Silva, two former UFC heavyweight champions, and he will now take on Tyson.
The fight will be streamed live on Netflix.
