Mohammad Amir Retires from International Cricket

After the retirement of Pakistani all-rounder Imad Wasim, Pakistan fast bowler Mohammad Amir too joined the race and declared his retirement from international cricket.

This is new as just a day earlier, Imad Wasim had announced his retirement from all formats of international cricket. Both these above players had represented Pakistan for the last time in their lives during the 2024 T20 World Cup.

Amir reacted to his retirement while mentioning it had been an honor to him serving in all three forms for Pakistan.

He admitted it was a tough decision, but felt the time was right to give the responsibility to the next generation and help Pakistan cricket move to new heights. Amir thanked the Pakistan Cricket Board for its unwavering support throughout his career and was now eager to continue following the team’s performances.

He further thanked the Pakistani fans, who had been his partner in both good and bad times throughout his cricketing life.

Meanwhile, the PCB also extended its best wishes to Mohammad Amir and Imad Wasim, who both retired a day earlier. Mohammad Amir has exemplarily played 36 Test matches, 81 One-Day Internationals, and 71 T20 matches for Pakistan, taking in total 271 wickets during his career.
