Oil tanker capsizes off Manila, risks causing 'biggest spill' in Philippine history
Authorities in the Philippines were racing on Thursday to contain a spill from a tanker carrying 1.4 million litres of industrial fuel oil that capsized and sank earlier in the day. If all the oil in the tanker were to leak, coast guard spokesman Rear Admiral Armando Balilo warned at a briefing, it would be the biggest spill in Philippine history.
