The first 3,000 partnership runs were scored by Babar and Rizwan. They also became the first batting pair with 10-century stands. Before Abbas Afridi dismissed Balbarine (35) after 10.4 overs, the home team reached 100. Tucker stuck to his strategy and attacked Pakistan bowlers.
He scored 73 off 41 balls with 13 fours and a six before being dismissed by Imad Wasim. Visitors wanted to put pressure on the home side with another dismissal. Shaheen beat Neil Rock (4). Mohammad Amir removed George Dockrell (6) from the other end. Abbas dismissed Curtis Campher (1) to continue the run.
