Pakistan Qualifies for Asia Cup 2022 Final

Pakistan triumphed over Afghanistan in a nail-biting contest by hitting two sixes in the final. In 2022, Pakistan will be a part of the Asia Cup final. In addition, after Babar Azam put Afghanistan in to bat first, they scored 130 runs in their allotted 20 overs. When Afghanistan was bowled out for 130, the game looked like it was over.

After losing Fakhar Zaman and Babar Azam in the first six overs and the in-form Mohammad Rizwan at the end of the ninth over, the Men in Green looked to be in a precarious position with only 48 runs on the board. Even though the Afghan bowlers kept up the pressure, Iftikhar Ahmed and Shadab Khan put on 42 runs together to get the score close by the 16th.

Following the partnership’s collapse, Pakistan’s wickets fell at a very low cost. Therefore, the tide was turned in Afghanistan’s favour. With three wickets still in play, Pakistan needed 21 runs in 12 balls to win in the final two overs. Furthermore, Fareed Ahmad’s over before the last proved crucial, as he was responsible for two dismissals, including that of Asif Ali.

After his over, Pakistan was down to its last two batters (Naseem and Mohammad Hasnain, who batted 10th and 11th, respectively). At the plate with an 11-run deficit and 6 balls remaining. Two sixes from Naseem off the first two balls of the last over saved Pakistan from a certain defeat. Pakistan beat India by one wicket to advance to the Asia Cup final, where they will meet Sri Lanka.
