Muneeba Ali and skipper Fatima Sana led Pakistan Women to a 13-run win over South Africa in the second T20I at Multan Cricket Stadium on Wednesday. Pakistan scored a competitive 182 in 20 overs after batting first. Sidra Amin (28), Nida Dar (29), and Fatima Sana (37 off 23 balls) helped Muneeba Ali hit 45 off 34 balls. Aliya Riaz scored 17 off 7 deliveries quickly.
South Africa fought back but reached 168 in 20 overs. Sune Luus (unbeaten fifty), Laura Wolvaardt (36), and Anneke Bosch (24) were key batters. The Pakistan bowling attack, led by Nashra Sandhu and Sadia Iqbal, who each took two wickets, proved too strong. South Africa missed the mark despite Luus’s attempts.
Pakistan recovered well after losing the first game of the three-match series by 10 runs. Pakistan’s batting struggled in that earlier encounter as South Africa defended 133. Fatima Sana (37*) and Aliya Riaz (52*) put up a strong 75-run stand for the sixth wicket, however they lost the opener.
Pakistan wins to even the series 1-1, setting up an intriguing final match. The team’s solid batting and disciplined bowling give them a chance to win at home.
