A new player was introduced to Kaizer Chiefs supporters on Tuesday: Ethan Chislett, and he instantly won over the great Benedict Vilakazi.

Massive news broke out from Kaizer Chiefs’ starting 11 on Wednesday for the 2-1 loss to Stellenbosch FC. July signing Ethan Chislett finally made his debut with the iconic jersey number 23 on his back.

Former Orlando Pirates superstar and popular pundit Bennedict Vilakazi did not miss the action. According to the Soweto-born legend, Kaizer Chiefs have a special number 8 in the English-South African midfielder.

BENEDICT VILAKAZI SUGGESTS NEW ROLE FOR AMAKHOSI STAR

While Chislett played as a number 10 for 70 minutes at the FNB Stadium, Vilakazi, who was a glorious talent in both the number 8 and 10 roles, believes Chislett looks suited as a roaming number 8.

“I like Chislett,” said Tso on iDiski TV – as quoted by iDiski Times. “I like him because he’s got good touches and he just needs good support.

“I think he can be a good number 8 for Kaizer Chiefs. Not a number 8 that will be more in defensive but a number 8 that can create chances and get to that final third because he also took a shot and made Sage [Stephens] to work,” Vilakazi added.

ETHAN CHISLETT BEFORE KAIZER CHIEFS

The Durban-born attacker had been a professional footballer for seven years. His turned out for three clubs in the English lower divisions: Aldershot Town, Wimbledon, and Port Vale.

At Aldershot Town, he scored nine goals in 36 games, before moving to Wimbledon, he found the net 16 goals in 132 games, including eight assists.

His club before Kaizer Chiefs was Port Vale, where he scored 15 goals in 82 games, including eight assists.

In the meantime, Amakhosi are returning to training on Thursday morning. Saturday sees the mighty Orlando Pirates visiting at the FNB Stadium for the first Soweto derby of the season, kick off is at 15:30.
