Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs are set to face off once again in a Soweto Derby next month. The two giants will compete in a league match on 25 April at FNB Stadium.

In their last encounter on 28 February, the Buccaneers secured a convincing 3-0 victory in what was a one-sided affair.

Goals from Tshepang Moremi, Oswin Appollis, and Evidence Makgopa gave the Sea Robbers the bragging rights, marking their fifth consecutive league win against their archrivals.

This defeat for the Chiefs represented one of their lowest moments of the season, leading to a run of four consecutive losses across all competitions.

Conversely, the Buccaneers’ title charge was reignited after this dominant win in the Soweto Derby, following disappointing losses to Mamelodi Sundowns and Casric Stars.

Many fans observed a significant difference in quality between the two teams, feeling that the Pirates players dominated every aspect of the game, making Chiefs appear ordinary on that day.

What can we expect in the upcoming Soweto Derby?

Amakhosi have ended their losing streak and may be in better shape by April. With Brandon Petersen potentially returning to the lineup and a fully fit squad, Chiefs could be much more competitive.
