Post-war 'reassurance force' for Ukraine would not 'seek to wage war' on Russia, Macron says

French President Emmanuel Macron on Thursday said that 26 countries have committed to deploy troops in Ukraine as a “reassurance force” after any ceasefire deal ending the war. Speaking in Paris following a meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and other European leaders, Macron said the troops would be “present on the ground, in the sea, or in the air” but would not “seek to wage any war on Russia”.
