PSL MVP Shadab Khan Eager for Next Season

On Tuesday, Pakistan’s spin all-rounder Shadab Khan expressed his excitement for the 10th Pakistan Super League (PSL) in April-May. The MVP and Best All-Rounder of the premier league, Shadab, praised Islamabad United before outlining his objectives for the season.

“I’m excited for the PSL. I am happy to have started my career at Islamabad United, a team that always looks out for its players. Being voted PSL MVP and Best All-Rounder during the draft was a big honor. That’s why you see those three championships; it’s a squad that values quality and cares for its players, said Shadab in a United statement.

“This season, I want to return stronger. I was Player of the Tournament last season, but my focus is on helping the club win again. He said he focused on a few things in the off-season and hoped to see benefits on the field.

United skipper acknowledged his enthusiasm to work with young all-rounder Saad Masood and promised to develop him.

“Working with Saad Masood excites me too. I saw myself as a child in him. We can’t guarantee game time, but we can protect, nurture, and develop him into a star. Our goal with Saad is long-term growth, not just this season.

We want to prepare Saad for the future even if he leaves us next year since retention regulations will change. My experience tells me this is the best franchise for him, and his time here will benefit him in the long run.”

For the unfamiliar, Shadab Khan helped Islamabad United win a record third PSL title in 2024. He won Player of the Tournament in the previous edition with 305 runs and 14 wickets.

Shadab has 1,240 runs and 91 wickets in 84 PSL matches, making him one of the league’s best players.
