The selection of Babar Azam T20I has been questioned when the former Pakistan captain Rashid Latif was concerned about the form and style of the batter. Latif has pointed out that the approach by Babar in the current ICC Men T20 world cup 2026 is dragging the team behind.
Babar is only 31 years old and has only accomplished 91 runs in four innings with an average of 22.75. Latif asked why the batter who in the past was not in the T20 side because of his conservative nature, was reintroduced into the squad. Babar is no longer of this kind of a player. Where did it improve? Why did you bring him back?” Latif commented in one of the discussions on a personal channel.
The previous wicket-keeper also stressed that the present day T20 cricket requires batting aggressiveness. He indicated that holding 20-25 balls without attacking is not only restricting the scoring opportunity but also straining other batters to hasten the innings.
