Thanks to Sajid Khan’s magnificent seven-wicket haul in the first innings, England were bowled out for 291 on Thursday. Resuming at 239-6, Jamie Smith and Brydon Carse were at the crease, but both batsmen failed to give much resistance as the innings of England folded quickly. Jack Leach remained not out on 25. Pakistan, having posted 366 in the first innings now lead by 75 runs.

A day earlier, an opening day century by Ben Duckett helped England seize the initiative as visitors responded strongly to Pakistan’s opening score until Sajid’s brilliance finally shifted the tide in favor of Pakistan.

Sajid Khan Takes 7-Wickets, Dismissing England for 291

As a right-arm off-break bowler, removing centurion Duckett, Harry Brook, Joe Root and Ollie Pope in the middle helped turn the tide in favour of the hosts.

That came after the Shan Masood-led side was bowled out for 366, with debutant Kamran Ghulam top-scoring for the hosts with a fluent 118 and Saim Ayub chipping in with 77. Off-spinner Jack Leach took for 4-114 and seamer Brydon Carse 3-50 for England, who lead the three-test series 1-0.
