Saud Shakeel and Mohammad Rizwan extended their fourth-wicket partnership to put Pakistan in a comfortable position. It was against West Indies on Friday at the Multan Cricket Stadium.
Pakistan were 143/4 in 41.3 overs at the end of the opening day, which was marred by weather. The first session was abandoned in severe fog, and bad light forced an early close.
On the second day, Saud and Rizwan will begin Pakistan’s first innings after an undefeated 97-run stand for the fourth wicket.
Saud had an undefeated 56 off 100 deliveries with four boundaries, while Rizwan had 51 with seven boundaries. In the morning, Pakistan captain Shan Masood won the toss and batted first.
Seales rattled their top order with three wickets, including star batsman Babar Azam, who only managed eight. The home team fell to 46/4 in 13.3 overs before Saud and Rizwan recovered.
The pair struck an unbroken 40-run stand for the fourth wicket against a momentum-filled West Indian bowling attack. Saud was undefeated on 33 and Rizwan 18 not out when Rod Tucker called for Tea.
