Saudi Arabia’s Football Federation has invited Pakistan’s women’s football team for a friendly match in Qatar during the FIFA international window later this month, sources within the Pakistan Football Federation told Geo News.
The friendly match, which is scheduled and geared at developing female football in the region, would run between November 25th and December 7th, which is the official FIFA window for women’s international matches.
Saudi Arabia has reached the PFF to finalise the arrangements and offered to bear all expenses, including Pakistan’s travelling and accommodation cost.
Ranked 158th and 174th respectively in the FIFA women’s rankings for Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, the teams are expected to hold a joint training camp in Qatar ahead of the match.
In fact, the girls from Pakistan went to Saudi Arabia, twice, to play women’s football tournaments there, and showed remarkable skills. According to the sources, the PFF has shown interest in the match and sees it as an opportunity to provide more international exposure to Pakistan’s women’s squad.
