RTMC spokesperson Simon Zwane said the suspects who include examiners of vehicles, a driving school operator and applicants were caught by members of the Road Traffic Management Corporation’s National Traffic Anti-Corruption Unit.

WHY LICENSING FRAUD IS A SERIOUS CRISIS

“Amateur drivers are contributing to the high fatality rate we face as a country, this corrupt practice puts many lives in danger as unskilled drivers don’t follow traffic rules and regulations. Reckless driving is one of the topmost reasons for road accidents,” Msibi stated.

Meanwhile, last month six licensing officials from the Mpumalanga Department of Community Safety, Security and Liaison were busted for multi-million rand fraud.
