Reporting from Beirut, FRANCE 24’s Rawa Taha says the Israeli airstrikes in Lebanon early Sunday, following Hezbollah retaliatory attack in response to last month’s Israeli assassination of its senior commander, Fuad Shukr, was a “very alarming” development. Southern Lebanon has been in “state of war” since October, when the Israel-Hamas war erupted, and Lebanese residents have “really become used to this daily exchange of fire, but nothing on this scale as of yet,” said Taha.
