Gunmen killed six people and injured three others in a drive-by shooting in Reiger Park, Boksburg, on Saturday, 1 November 2025.

According to the South African Police Services, two vehicles, a silver Polo and a black Polo, drove into the area and opened fire on a group of people.

Police Probe Motive in Reiger Park shooting

Gauteng police spokesperson Colonel Dimakatso Nevhuhulwi said officers are still working to establish what led to the attack.

“The circumstances of the shooting are not clear at this stage. Investigations are underway, and a manhunt has been launched for the suspects,” she said.

Acting Gauteng police commissioner Major General Fred Kekana has deployed additional resources to track down the shooters.

He urged residents to assist investigators and avoid interfering with police operations.

Appeal for Information

Police called on community members to report any information that could help the investigation.

Police urged residents to share tip-offs by calling Crime Stop on 08600 10111 or using the MySAPS app anonymously.
