WATCH: Fists fly during COPE media briefing

A scuffle broke out live on national television during a media briefing held by the Congress of the People (COPE) in Boksburg on Wednesday, 31 August.

Disgruntled party members barged into the briefing and fists started flying. Some had to be escorted out of the room where the briefing was held.

While Mosiuoa Lekota was addressing the media, an unidentified man believed to be a disgruntled party member barged in and could be seen ripping off microphones belonging to various broadcasters who were present.

President Cyril Ramaphosa has been accused of creating ‘Nkandla 2.0’ in Parliament this week, after he was accused of dodging questions about the Phala Phala farm scandal. However, his office has flat-out denied that this was the case.

John Steenhuisen was left dismayed by Ramaphosa’s response to a question about monies found at his Phala Phala property. In a written statement, the DA leader said the head of state was now ‘indistinguishable from Jacob Zuma’, in the way he treats the National Assembly.

The Presidency has hit back, though. They are adamant that Cyril Ramaphosa DID answer the question about his role in the controversy – and even went as far as to publish the entire transcript from his response. So, is this a satisfactory reply, or merely ‘word soup’?

Lone survivor of HORRIFIC SAPS aircraft crash fighting for his life

The lone survivor of the HORRIFIC SAPS aircraft crash is still fighting for his life in ICU.

Captain Casper Swanepoel, the pilot, was the lone survivor of the crash that claimed the lives of five people on Tuesday. Casper is a senior pilot with 16 years of service.

A video on social media showing a University of Cape Town (UCT) student arriving at the campus in a Lamborghini Huracan has gone viral.
