A shocking video has emerged of yet ANOTHER baby being snatched from her parents’ trolley inside a store. 

Meanwhile, a Grade 10 learner from Northbury Secondary School in Northdale in Pietermaritzburg, KwaZulu-Natal, has allegedly set alight an Acting Principal’s car for reprimanding him. 

Alleged riot instigator Duduzile Zuma is now being accused of inciting violence against News24 journalist Karyn Maughan. The reporter was served a summons on Tuesday from Jacob Zuma’s legal team, challenging the coverage of the former president’s health issues.

Tiger Brands announced it is recalling certain Purity Essentials Baby Powder products on Wednesday, 7 September, after trace levels of asbestos were found in test samples of the talc raw material used in the products.

In some sad news, three members of the South African Police Service (SAPS) died in a horrific truck accident in Vereeniging, Gauteng, early on Wednesday, 7 September. It is alleged that a truck hit a police vehicle and dragged it for at least half a kilometre after failing to stop.

Lastly, Plettenberg Bay bathers are being warned to swim with caution following the sighting of shark activity along the coastline.

WATCH: Another baby SNATCHED from parents’ trolley in store

A shocking video has emerged of yet ANOTHER baby being snatched from her parents’ trolley inside a store. 

Police are warning parents that a child or baby could be snatched and kidnapped in seconds within the ‘ blink of an eye’. 

“A child could be snatched and kidnapped in seconds; therefore, it is of utmost importance that children are always kept within sight.”

WATCH: Learner whose phone was confiscated sets principal’s car alight

A Grade 10 learner from Northbury Secondary School in Northdale in Pietermaritzburg, KwaZulu-Natal, has allegedly set alight an Acting Principal’s car for reprimanding him. 

The Acting Principal reportedly reprimanded the learner for carrying a phone to school and confiscated it. 

The learner was angered when his phone was confiscated and reportedly returned to school with petrol and allegedly poured it on the car before setting it alight.

Tiger Brands recalls baby powder after asbestos detected

Tiger Brands announced it is recalling certain Purity Essentials Baby Powder products on Wednesday, 7 September, after trace levels of asbestos were found in test samples of the talc raw material used in the products.

The affected products include:

  • Purity & Elizabeth Anne’s Fresh Baby Powder (400g)
  • Purity Essentials Baby Powder / Purity & Elizabeth Anne’s Essentials Baby Powder (400g)
  • Purity Essentials Baby Powder / Purity & Elizabeth Anne’s Essentials Baby Powder (200g)
  • Purity Essentials Baby Powder / Purity & Elizabeth Anne’s Essentials Baby Powder (100g)

Tiger Brands said the products were being recalled as a precautionary measure as the affected batch of raw materials does not meet its quality and safety standards.

Duduzile Zuma accused of ‘inciting violence’ against journalist

Alleged riot instigator Duduzile Zuma is now being accused of inciting violence against News24 journalist Karyn Maughan. The reporter was served a summons on Tuesday from Jacob Zuma’s legal team, challenging the coverage of the former president’s health issues.

Maughan broke a story about Msholozi’s medical conditions, when the documents were revealed during his corruption trial. After being published in court, the papers were considered public information. However, the Zumas are furious with the way these details were handled.

Three SAPS members killed in accident after truck failed to stop

Three members of the South African Police Service (SAPS) died in a horrific truck accident in Vereeniging, Gauteng early on Wednesday, 7 September. It is alleged that a truck hit a police vehicle and dragged it for at least half a kilometre after failing to stop.

SAPS National spokesperson Colonel Athlenda Mathe told The South African that the accident occurred at approximately 4:45.

“At the time of the accident, the three members from the Vereeniging Police Station were conducting crime prevention patrols when a truck allegedly failed to stop at a four-way crossing,” said Mathe.

SHARK ALERT: Plettenberg Bay bathers warned of shark danger

Plettenberg Bay bathers are being warned to swim with caution following the sighting of shark activity along the coastline.

In a statement, NSRI and Bitou Municipality appealed to the public to exercise caution along the Plettenberg Bay and Southern Cape coastline following increased shark activity feeding on a whale carcass washing ashore.

The carcass of a Humpback whale has been spotted in the vicinity between Natures Valley and Keurbooms Beach with a visible shark presence feeding on the carcass.
