The Springboks have been forced into two changes, involving Pieter-Steph du Toit, to their match 23 for the first Test in the Rugby Championship in Brisbane on Saturday.

Springboks forced into TWO late changes before kick-off

Rassie Erasmus has confirmed several tweaks to the Springboks’ match-day squad for Saturday’s Test against the Wallabies due to injuries.

Lock RG Snyman has been forced to pull out of the Test due to a foot injury, just hours before kick-off. As a result, Pieter-Steph du Toit moves from blindside flank to lock, where he initially started his Test career.

Ben-Jason Dixon, originally named on the bench, has been promoted to the starting lineup, and will fill the vacant No 7 position left by Du Toit’s positional shift.

Additionally, Salmaan Moerat comes onto the bench ahead of Ruan Nortje, is also carrying a slight niggle he sustained in training on Wednesday.

RASSIE ERASMUS CONFIRMED SPRINGBOKS’ LATE CHANGES

The Springboks have a wretched Test record in Brisbane, where they have lost 11 of their last 12 games against the Wallabies, dating back to 1996. South Africa’s only win in that city in that period, came in 2013.

That a dismal run that Rassie Erasmus will want his charges to overturn this weekend and these are the players he picked for the job done.
