'Strong sense in Ukraine that France has shifted gear' on military aid
Speaking to French television, President Emmanuel Macron said late Thursday Paris would transfer Mirage 2000 fighter jets to Ukraine and train Ukrainian pilots as part of a new military cooperation in the war against Russia. It came just before Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky addressed the French parliament on Friday and France 24's Gulliver Cragg, reporting from Kyiv, says there is a sense now in Ukraine that France has "shifted gear" in its support for the country.
