Thailand’s Anutin elected PM in parliamentary vote, Thaksin leaves country

Thailand's Anutin Charnvirakul was elected prime minister on Friday after breezing through a parliamentary vote which came hours after former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra suddenly left the country on his private jet for Dubai. A Thai court last week sacked Thaksin's daughter and protégé from the prime minister's post.
