When I was pregnant with my son, I was extremely nauseous for the entire nine months and only able to eat a limited range of foods. One of my go-to foods for quelling the nausea was salted tortilla chips.

Since then, I've developed a penchant for crunchy, salty snacks, but most available low- or no-prep snack options aren't winning any nutrition awards. As much as I'd love to eat tortilla chips every day, it's probably better to diversify my snack situation. So, I started subbing in healthier options like popcorn, kale chips (don’t knock ‘em!), and crunchy bean and legume snacks that I've grown to love.

I was pretty excited when I saw that ALDI was carrying one of my faves, Bada Bean Bada Boom snacks. I've tried my fair share of bean-based snacks, and these are among the best. They're the perfect snacking trifecta: crunchy, flavorful, and wholesome. They're just roasted and seasoned fava beans, which doesn't sound like much to get excited about, but I promise you're in for a delicious surprise.

Why I Love ALDI's Bada Bean Bada Boom Snacks

These beans come in many flavors: Sweet Sriracha, Sweet Onion and Mustard, Buffalo Wing, Spicy Wasabi, Sea Salt, and Zesty Ranch. My personal favorite? It's a toss-up between the Sweet Sriracha, Buffalo Wing, and Zesty Ranch. I love spicy anything, and the Buffalo Wing and Sweet Sriracha flavors have a decent kick, while the Zesty Ranch is classic.

My kids aren't fans of most of the bean snacks, but even they'll snack on these sometimes. That's fine by me because each serving has seven grams of protein and five to six grams of fiber, far better than a bag of chips! So when my kids are snacking on these, I low-key feel like I should be winning a mom award.

These little beans are fantastic straight out of the bag, but I also use them to jazz up other dishes. I like to sprinkle them over my greens for an instant crouton upgrade. They're a fun addition to homemade trail mix.  And for some added flavor and crunch, I also like topping my soups and cottage cheese bowls with them.

They've become a much-used ingredient and a reliable snack option, proof that healthy snacking doesn't have to be boring. If you're looking for a better way to satisfy your salty snack cravings, toss a bag of these into your cart.
