Turkish prosecutor seeks 2,352-year term for jailed opposition mayor Imamoglu
Turkish prosecutors on Tuesday charged Istanbul’s jailed opposition mayor Ekrem Imamoglu with 142 charges that could amount to up to 2,352 in prison, court documents showed. The nearly 4,000-page indictment charges Imamoglu, who was arrested in March, with offences including running a criminal organisation, bribery, embezzlement, money laundering, extortion and tender rigging.
