Ukraine's Kursk incursion: Kyiv 'capable of taking the war to Russia'
One of the reasons Ukraine is seeking to create a buffer zone through its offensive into Russia’s Kursk region is to prevent Russian forces from attacking Ukraine’s border region of Sumy, FRANCE 24’s Rob Parsons said. Kyiv is also looking to “suck in Russian troops from other fronts, in particular the Donbas area where they’re putting the Ukrainians under immense pressure”, Parsons said. Moreover, Ukraine wants to demonstrate to its people and Western allies that “they’re capable of taking the war to Russia”, Parsons added.
