Unilever Recalls 137,000 Cases of Popsicle Jolly Rancher Due to Undeclared Allergen
On Wednesday, Unilever recalled about 137,000 cases of its popular Popsicle Jolly Rancher, sold individually at ice cream trucks and concession stands, due to an undeclared allergen.
According to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), on August 21, Unilever recalled about 137,000 cases of Popsicle Jolly Rancher Frozen Confection Pop products because they may contain milk. It is not an ingredient listed on the product's label and may be dangerous for those allergic or sensitive to milk. There have been two reported cases of consumers having an adverse allergic reaction to the recalled product.
The recall impacts Popsicle Jolly Rancher products sold individually (and marked for individual sale) and does not apply to the 18-count Popsicle Jolly Rancher products sold in grocery stores. According to the company, "These products are typically sold through channels such as ice cream trucks, concession stands, and grab-and-go freezers throughout the United States."
The recalled products were distributed nationwide between February 1, 2024, and August 15, 2024, and are labeled:
